Molex introduces Polymicro Technologies fiber bundle components
Molex introduces Polymicro Technologies fiber bundle assemblies. The fiber bundle assembly is custom-configured to meet the needs of scientific and industrial optics including biotechnology and pharmaceutical diagnostic instruments, semiconductor manufacturing and inspection, and laser welding and marking.

Molex can combine the design support, fiber production and assembly of large fiber counts and large aggregation rate fiber bundles in one place, resulting in significant cost savings. The manufacturing process consolidates the maximum number of fibers in a single bundle while minimizing waste of space. The fused bundling design is suitable for high temperature applications requiring high power density lamps and lasers without the epoxy resins, optical activity and clearance Spaces typically required in multiple fiber bundles.
Polymicro's fiber components can support virtually any number of fibers in a single component, including both guiding and detecting fibers, for maximum design flexibility and adaptability. High-precision fiber arrays provide excellent throughput and shape conversion performance in input and output. The robust fiber bundle can withstand a wide range of operating conditions.
Polymicro's fiber bundle assemblies combine quartz glass and precision components to provide optical, electrical, and mechanical properties, as well as micromachined ends, metal terminations, or precision couplings. The fiber can be bundled at one end and drawn in a variety of configurations at the other end. Custom end shapes can be micromachined directly on the fiber, reducing the loss of connection and coupling. You can specify the termination style and termination technology, the jacket type, and the fiber type.
