Vishay's new 20V MOSFETs significantly improve the power density and reliability of portable electronics

     Vishay introduces the new 20V n-channel TrenchFET power MOSFET-SIA466EDJ in an ultra-small, thermally enhanced PowerPAK SC-70 package. With a occupying area of 2mm x 2mm, the Vishay Siliconix SiA466EDJ features the industry's highest package limiting current, enabling higher power density and reliability in portable electronics. It is also the only device in the industry with a ±20V rated VGS offering integrated ESD protection.

     The SiA466EDJ's 25A package limits current 13% higher than the nearest device. In load switch applications, the high current rating provides an additional safety margin for failure situations such as large inrush currents and short circuits. The MOSFET integrates ESD protection with a protection capacity of 2500V to prevent electrostatic damage caused by touch or human contact.

     The device is a versatile power management solution that can be used in portable electronics. The device features high current and an excellent on-resistor and gate charge product coefficient of excellence (FOM) for synchronous buck converters and load switches in wireless and fast battery chargers, smartphones, tablets, laptops and electronic locks.

     To improve efficiency in high frequency switching applications, the SiA466EDJ has on-resistance of 9.5mΩ, 11.1mΩ and 13.0mΩ at 10V, 6V and 4.5V, respectively, to reduce on-loss, with a typical gate charge of 6.3nC and a grid resistance of 0.9Ω to minimize switching loss. Mosfets are 100% RG-tested, RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
