Vishay introduces new space-saving power inductors for commercial and automotive grades

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced two new power inductors in 2.5mm x 2mm x 1.2mm 1008 housing sizes. The commercial IHL-1008AB-1Z and automotive grade IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A offer the same performance as the next smallest IHLP inductor, with a 55% smaller footprint, while offering higher operating temperatures (up to +165 ° C), a wider range of inductance values, and a lower DCR.

     Packaged in a 100% lead-free (Pb) shielded composite structure, the device reduces buzz to ultra-low levels, has high resistance to thermal shock, moisture and mechanical shock, and can handle high transient current spikes in unsaturated conditions. They are rohs compliant, halogen-free and Vishay green.

     Offering inductance values from 0.33µH to 4.7µH, the IHLL-1008AB-1Z's terminals are plated only on the bottom, allowing for a smaller grounding mode for a more compact board spacing. The IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A's terminals are plated on the bottom and sides to form a solder joint Angle, increasing the mounting strength of high mechanical impact while simplifying solder joint inspection. The AEC-Q200 qualified device offers reliable performance of up to +165C, 10C higher than the closest competing composite inductors, while its typical DCR is as low as 12mOhm, 15% lower.
