Vishay introduces five surface-mount trench MOS barrier Schottky rectifiers

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the launch of five new series of 60 V, 100 V and 150 V surface mount grooved MOS Barrier Shotky (TMBS) rectifiers -VxNL63, VxNM63, VxN103, VxNM103 and VxNM153. These devices are packaged in a thin side pad DFN3820A for easy solder adsorption. The rated current of VxNL63, VxNM63, VxN103, VxNM103 and VxNM153 reaches the advanced level in the industry, and the current density is 50% higher than that of traditional SMA (DO-214AC) packaged devices and 12% higher than that of SMF (DO-219AB) packaged devices. Space-saving and efficient solutions for commercial, industrial, energy and automotive applications, each product is available in an automotive grade AEC-Q101 certified version.

     For the first time, the rectifier is packaged in Vishay's new Power DFN Series DFN3820A with a space area of 3.8 mm x 2.0 mm and a typical thickness of just 0.88 mm, allowing for more efficient use of PCB space. Compared with traditional SMB (DO-214AA), traditional SMA (DO-0214AC) and SOD128 packages, the package size is reduced by 60%, 44% and 35%, respectively. At the same time, the device's optimized copper design and advanced chip mount technology achieve excellent thermal performance and can operate at higher current ratings. Rectifier rated current equal to or higher than SMA (DO-214AC), SMB (DO-214AA) and SOD128 package devices.

     The device is suitable for low voltage and high frequency inverters, DC/DC converters, continuous current diodes, buffer circuits, polarity protection, reverse current blocking and LED backlight.      The operating temperature of VxNL63, VxNM63, VxN103, VxNM103 and VxNM153 is +175 C, and the forward voltage is reduced to 0.45 V, which is the advanced level in the industry, helping to reduce power consumption and improve efficiency. The side pad DFN3820A package facilitates automatic optical inspection of solder joints (AOI) without the need for X-ray inspection. The rectifier is ideal for automatic pick-up and placement of patch processing, with a moisture sensitivity rating (MSL) up to J-STD-020 standard Class 1 and a maximum LF peak of 260 C. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and matte tinned pins meet JESD 201 Level 2 tin test requirements.
