Vishay announces a series of ultra-low profile infrared receivers with a thickness of only 0.8mm for remote controls
Vishay Intertechnology has expanded its optoelectronics portfolio with the TSOP57x series, a remote control receiver with the industry's best size and light Angle. The new TSOP57x series includes TSOP572... TSOP573... TSOP574... And TSOP575... The device, with an ultra-thin thickness of 0.8mm, is one of the thinnest products on the market today, with a photosensitive Angle of an astonishing 150°. The receiver has Vishay's consistently high sensitivity and a range of 40 meters.
Flat-panel LED and plasma TVS are getting thinner, which means the components inside the TV need to get thinner without losing performance. Not only televisions require low-profile infrared receivers, set-top boxes, stereos and indoor air conditioners also require infrared receivers to be installed in a very limited area.
Vishay's TSOP57x infrared receiver meets this market demand with a height of just 0.8mm, thinner than your home door key. The new TSOP57x infrared receiver has no lens and its coaxial sensitivity is on par with that of any surface mount receiver on the market.
At an off-axis Angle of 45°, the sensitivity of the receiver is far superior to that of other devices with lenses, equivalent to 85% of the sensitivity of other devices in coaxial conditions. Because the remote receiver is placed behind a decorative window, which usually absorbs some infrared light, this high sensitivity makes the TSOP57x series outperform other surface mount receivers on the market.
The receiver features Vishay's intelligent Automatic Gain Control (AGC) capabilities, including AGC2, -3, -4, and -5 versions, providing the best noise suppression in the industry. The receiver has a peak sensitivity of 940nm and modulation frequencies of 36kHz, 38kHz, 40kHz and 56kHz.
