Vishay announces WSBS battery shunt for high accuracy, low cost and vibration resistance
Vishay Intertechnology announces the launch of the new WSBS8518 with M3 and M4 screw holes, respectively... .M3 and WSBS8518... M436W Poer Metal Strip battery shunt. With an extremely low resistance of 50μQ and an external dimension of 8518, these Vishay Dale devices offer higher accuracy and lower cost than Hall-effect galvanometers, while the screw holes assist the PCB mounting process, providing additional vibration resistance, and have a fixed voltage detection of the | pin position.
These devices use a unique machining process to achieve extremely low resistance values of 50μQ, 100μQ, 125μQ and 250μQ. Low resistance allows measuring devices to obtain more accurate data to determine whether to charge or discharge the battery, helping designers meet the battery management needs of specific customers in gasoline, diesel, hybrid, electric cars and trucks, as well as electric forklifts, UPS systems and other heavy-duty industrial applications.
WSBS8518... M3 and WSBS8518... M4 uses a low TCR(+20ppm/°C) solid metal mangano-copper resistance core, the connector to the resistance core is welded connection, so that the continuous current can reach 848A(depending on the specific resistance value). The self-inductance of the resistor is less than 5nH, the thermal EMF is less than 3μVI°C, and the operating temperature is from -65°C to +170°C. Devices comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards and are halogen-free.
