Toshiba launches industry-leading 1.3A LDO regulator in small package for mobile devices

     Toshiba's Storage and Electronic Component Solutions company announced the launch of the 1.3A output current CMOS Low Voltage Difference (LDO) regulator TCR13AGADJ in an industry-leading compact package for power supplies for mobile devices. The new regulator comes in a WCSP6F package with a size of only 0.8mm x 1.2mm and a thickness of 0.33mm(maximum). 

     The TCR13AGADJ is an LDO regulator that can be used in a variety of applications, including Wi-Fi chipsets for smartphones and tablets, power supplies for cameras and RF modules, and power control for wearables, laptops, digital camcorders, storage devices, and set-top boxes. The new product utilizes an external biased power supply terminal (VBAT) to achieve an industry-leading [1] low voltage difference, thereby improving the power efficiency of chipsets using the new product.

     The TCR13AGADJ is available in a WCSP6F package (0.8mmx1.2mm, thickness: 0.33mm(Max)), the industry leading compact package for 1.3A LDO regulators, making it suitable for mobile and modular applications that require a small size and thin profile.

     In addition, the new product achieves an industry-leading [1] high ripple rejection ratio, helping to significantly reduce ripple noise in DCDC converters and Pmics, a common problem faced by users when providing power to cameras and RF components. The new product uses an external resistor whose output voltage can be adjusted over a wide range of 0.55V to 3.6V to meet the needs of power applications using the new product.

     Built-in protection features include overcurrent protection and overheat protection. These capabilities enable efficient LDO solutions for applications that require stable output voltages, large output currents, and low power consumption.
