Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH has released a new low-voltage, high-speed photorelay. Particularly suited for the pin electronics of semiconductor testers, the TLP3450S makes measuring DUTs at fast speeds more precise. It is also ideal for probe cards, measuring instruments and various industrial equipment.

     Toshiba Electronics Europe Ltd. has released a new low voltage high speed optical relay. The TLP3450S is especially suitable for pin electronics in semiconductor testers, making rapid dut measurement more accurate. It is also ideal for probe cards, measuring instruments and various industrial equipment.

     The new device is based on an upgraded internal configuration, with enhanced infrared leds combined with an optimally designed photodiode array. As a result, the on-off switching time (tON) of the new device is less than 80μs. This represents a 40% improvement over the previous generation (TLP3450), which will greatly improve the overall throughput of the ATE system.

     The device has a small output capacitance (COFF) of only 0.6pF, which reduces the leakage of high-frequency signals when the output is turned off, thus reducing noise and improving the accuracy of the multiplexing structure. The device also has a low on-resistance (RON) - typically 6.8 ohms - which improves signal attenuation when the output is on.

     The device has an input-output isolation (bv) rating of 500Vrms and can operate at ambient temperatures from -40 ° C to +110 ° C. It is configured as a Type A contact device with a continuous power supply of 160mA (ION). The pulse rating is 480mA (IONP).

     Complex ATE systems require smaller components to increase installation density. To achieve this, the TLP3450S is housed in a tiny S-VSON4T package measuring just 1.45mm x 2mm x 1.3mm, which reduces the footprint by 18% compared to conventional products.
