The new timing solution delivers the industry's lowest power consumption and leading jitter performance
Renesas Electronics Corporation has expanded its portfolio of timing solutions with a new ultra-low 25fs-rms clock solution for wired infrastructure, data centers and industrial applications. The new FemtoClock 3 series includes ultra-low jitter clock generators and jitter attenuators with 8 and 12 outputs, providing a high-performance, easy-to-use, cost-effective clock tree design for the next generation of high-speed interconnect systems. Targeted applications for the new devices include telecommunications switches and routers, top-rack data center switches, medical imaging, broadcast audio and video, and more.
These devices provide industry-leading phase noise and jitter, requiring the use of commonly used 48MHz to 73MHz crystals to meet the requirements of 112Gbps SerDes rates and next-generation 224Gbps SerDes designs. Highly integrated devices can generate up to four frequency domains and provide an integrated ldo with superior PSRR, reducing board complexity and cost.

The solution supports multiple modes of operation, including synchronization, jitter attenuation, and clock generation. Customers can combine the new solution with a broader portfolio of ClockMatrix, VersaClock, buffer and oscillator timing solutions to meet the timing needs of their high-performance wired infrastructure and data center designs.
The solution integrates seamlessly with the state-of-the-art RICBox IC toolbox application, enabling users to configure and program devices on the evaluation board. In addition, RICBox's interface with Renesas LABS on the cloud platform allows users to virtually connect to the actual lab setup.
