The new series of highly integrated wireless microcontrollers from ST STM32WBA6 offers more features, performance and energy efficiency
STMicroelectronics, the world's leading semiconductor company serving multiple electronic applications, has announced the next generation of STM32 energy-efficient short-range wireless microcontrollers (MCUS) that simplify the connectivity of consumer electronics and industrial devices to the Internet of Things. The STM32WBA6 new series of microcontrollers are used for iot smart devices, such as wearable medical devices, health monitors, animal collars, electronic locks, remote weather prediction sensors, etc. The new series of wireless microcontrollers integrates larger memory capacity and more digital system interfaces while maintaining energy efficiency and can handle richer functionality in emerging product designs.
The STM32WBA6 MCUs also includes SESIP3 and PSA Level 3 certified security assets such as cryptography accelerator, TrustZone® isolation, random number generator and product lifecycle management to help customers meet the requirements of upcoming RED and CRA regulations.

The wireless subsystem of the STM32WBA6 new family of microcontrollers supports Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, Matter and other network protocols that operate in the 2.4GHz band and allows devices to communicate using multiple protocols simultaneously. In this way, network systems such as smart home Bridges can communicate with the owner's mobile App via Bluetooth, while also managing lighting or thermostats via Mesh networks such as Zigbee. The STM32WBA6 series also has single-protocol products to meet the needs of customers who value simplicity and cost performance.
