The new sensor raises the bar for simple code and text reading

     With the introduction of the IDC230, Baumer continues to expand its range of intelligent visual code and text reading sensors. Developed specifically for a variety of tasks in the packaging, electronics and food processing industries, the sensor is also capable of high-tech tasks such as assembly and tracking internal logistics. Following the success of the recently launched IDC200, the ultra-compact device has the same ease of use and debugging features and benefits.

     Unlike most traditional code and text readers, device setup does not require specialized software, so there is no need to use IT experts for a time-consuming installation process. Smart installation accessories and complex yet simple user menus provide fast and hassle-free debugging. The USB-C port allows multi-code readers to easily connect to a computer and activate via a web interface.

     Thanks to automatic Settings, just one click is enough to read several different codes, while space-saving enclosures, matching accessories, Ethernet and USB-C interfaces, and Profinet, Ethernet /IP and DIO protocols provide easy integration. In addition, the freely available configurable data telegrams mean that all code readers in the IDC family can be easily integrated into existing systems and adapted to specific personal data formats.

     Based on the same technology as the IDC200, the device can read multiple lines of text and 1D/2D code in parallel at high speed, processing up to 40fps of data even on different code types. The bright integrated lighting of the card reader is ideal for challenging applications, eliminating the need for external lighting and the associated time and cost. Adding new equipment enables companies to provide the right code and text reading solutions for many industrial automation applications that require text reading at the same time, such as label checking. It also overcomes the challenges of reflective surfaces, changing light conditions, module size or minimum resolution limitations.
