ROHM has released N-channel MOSFETs – RF9x120BKFRA, RQ3xxx0BxFRA, RD3x0xxBKHRB – featuring low ON-resistance ideal for a variety of automotive applications, including motors for doors and seat positioning, as well as LED headlights. Sales have begun with ten models across three package types, with plans to expand the lineup.

The company has started selling ten models in three packaging types and plans to expand the product line.

     Driven by increased demand for safety and convenience, electronic components in the automotive industry are proliferating. At the same time, there is an urgent need to improve power efficiency in order to optimize fuel and power consumption. Especially for MOSFETs necessary for switching applications in automotive systems, there is an increasing need to reduce on-resistance to minimize loss and heating.

     The company has been providing low-on-resistance MOSFETs for consumer and industrial devices and is expanding the technology to the automotive industry. The use of a cutting-edge medium voltage process to meet the stringent reliability requirements of automotive products has allowed us to develop ten n-channel MOSFET models characterized by low on-resistance.

     The new product offers 40V, 60V and 100V voltage ratings and includes a split-grid structure to achieve low on-resistance, helping to improve efficiency in automotive applications. All models comply with the AEC-Q101 automotive reliability standard, ensuring exceptional high reliability.

     Users can choose from three package types depending on the application. For space-constrained devices like ADAS, the compact DFN2020Y7LSAA (2mm x 2mm) and HSMT8AG (3.3mm x 3.3mm) packages are ideal. The widely-used TO-252 (DPAK) package (6.6mm x 10mm) is also available for automotive power applications. In addition, the company has further improved installation reliability by using wettable airfoil technology with gull-wing leads in the DFN2020Y7LSAA package and TO-252 package.
