The Samsung Exynos Auto V920 powers Hyundai's next-generation in-vehicle infotainment system

     Samsung Electronics announced that its latest automotive processor Exynos Auto V920 has been designated for Hyundai's next generation in-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) project, which is expected to be officially put into operation In 2025. This is a milestone cooperation between Samsung and Hyundai Motor, a world-renowned automobile brand, in the field of automotive semiconductors.

     The Exynos Auto V920 is Samsung's third-generation automotive processor for in-car infotainment systems. The V920 has been significantly upgraded in CPU, graphics and AI performance, ensuring that key information related to driving safety is displayed in real time, while also being able to seamlessly play image-rich video content and games on multiple displays, providing users with an excellent driving experience.

     The V920 processor is built with 10 of Arm's latest cores optimized for autonomous driving, providing 1.7 times better processing performance than the second-generation platform. With the outstanding speed of LPDDR5 memory, the V920 can support up to six high-resolution multi-screen display for the dashboard, infotainment system and rearseat entertainment system, as well as up to 12 concurrent camera sensors to support the capture of critical visual information.

     The graphics and artificial intelligence (AI) performance of the V920 processor has been significantly improved, greatly enhancing the visual presentation effect, and the driver's interaction experience with the information in the car is also better. The V920 integrates an advanced GPU core to deliver a rich graphical user interface (GUI) with graphics processing speeds twice that of the second-generation platform.

     By applying the latest computing kernel, the intelligent neural processing Unit (NPU) achieves 2.7 times the performance of the previous generation platform. Therefore, the V920 supports more advanced driver monitoring functions, which can better detect the driver's status and quickly monitor the driving surrounding environment to achieve the purpose of safe driving.

     The V920 ensures the robustness of the IVI system with a built-in safety island. The V920's built-in safety island, which meets Automotive Safety Integrity Level B (ASIL-B) specifications, can detect and manage faults in real time to ensure the stability and reliability of the in-vehicle infotainment system
