     Cypress Semiconductor, a leader in the USB-C market, announced that its USB-C technology will be incorporated in the Samsung DeX desktop Dock, enabling users to use their smartphones as desktop computers. The Samsung DeX Desktop Dock connects to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones via a USB-C port, allowing users to use apps, read files, set or check message notifications, send and receive text messages and make calls using the phone's desktop environment.

Two Cypress EZ-PD™ CCG2 CYPD2122 controllers provide power transfer and smart device charging, controlling the upstream current to the smartphone and the downstream current to the peripherals. In addition, the Cypress CYP65632 USB 2.0 hub enables two USB devices and an Ethernet port to connect to your smartphone. The Cypress CY7C65210 Billboard controller prevents connection errors caused by mismatching functions between peripherals and smartphones, and allows firmware upgrades for both USB-C controllers, further optimizing the user experience.
