Texas Instruments introduces a new voice remote control solution

     Texas Instruments has announced a new voice remote control solution to further strengthen its leadership in voice remote control. As part of the SimpleLink™ Ultra Low Power platform, this family of solutions helps developers easily add Bluetooth Low Energy, ZigBee RF4CE™ or multi-standard connectivity to their voice remote control, TV, set-top box and more designs.

     With TI's new SimpleLink ZigBee RF4CE CC2620 wireless microcontroller (MCU) and the existing Bluetooth low-power CC2640 wireless MCU or multi-standard CC2650 solution, developers can achieve more innovation with lower power consumption. And through different technologies to create a rich feature of remote control. Engineers can reuse their R&D investments for a wide variety of standards and products. In addition, developers can add voice-activated commands and advanced features such as search, gestures, and instructions to the product without sacrificing battery life, thus making the designed product stand out.

     TI makes Bluetooth low power and RF4CE development for remote control easier by offering the all-in-one SimpleLink multi-standard CC2650 Remote Control Development Kit (CC2650RC). In addition, with DevPack insertion modules, the kit can also connect to the SimpleLink SensorTag ecosystem for a wider range of functionality.      Using the MSP430FR2633 MCU with CapTIvate™ technology, developers can also add gesture boards, capacitive buttons, slideshovers, and grip detection to their designs while achieving average operating currents of less than 4uA.
