TE Connectivity introduces 6-bit PDL connector solutions

     To meet the demand for versatile products, TE Connectivity has introduced a new two-bank wire-to-wire panel fixed connection solution, the 6-position Power Lock Strip (PDL) connector. Featuring a new resin material, locking inserts and an ergonomic round edge design, the connector offers a Glow-wire standard (GWT) option with terminal double locking (TPA) and excellent handling performance.

     James Dunbar, Global Power and Signal Interconnect product Manager at TE's Home Appliances Business unit, said, "The PDL panel mount connector is paired with two other 4-bit and 2-bit enclosures, and the asymmetrical structural design prevents mismatches. "This product can carry 9A/300VAC operating current and is GWT-compliant, making it a very competitive solution for home appliance customers."

     This PDL connector meets the UL94 V-0 and IEC 60335-1 standards. TPA terminal lock inserts prevent the loosening of terminals in random vibration environments, and completely avoid the potential risk of terminals not being locked to the correct position in the plastic case; At the same time, it can provide additional holding force for the terminal, making the connector joint more reliable and further improving the product performance. Another major advantage of this connector is the ergonomic round edge design, which helps to improve the efficiency of plant operators. "Our product integrates these capabilities to meet the needs of different customers from all over the world," said James Dunbar.

     The 6-bit PDL connector is based on a 6.6x8.5mm pitch, with panel sizes of 30.6mm wide x 18.7mm high, and can crimp wires with diameters from 16 to 26AWG. At the same time, it matches with similar products on the market, which is conducive to simple replacement.
