Screw-coupled circular connectors designed for exposure environments

     Lane Electronics now offers the LMF and LMG range of connectors and accessories manufactured in the UK by Weald Electronics. Both connector families are ideal for cable-to-panel or cable-to-cable connections and are designed for exposed harsh environments, such as mining, construction and offshore installations, including wind farms and oil and gas platforms.

     These connectors are available from 1 to 37 contacts and are installed in a range of housing styles and sizes: housing size 1 - small, housing size 2 - medium, and housing size 3 - large.

     Two housing materials are available: aluminum with fine threaded joints, which are suitable for lightweight use, and brass, which has coarse-threaded joints, which are ideal for sturdier applications. Both types are ip67 rated and maintain a high level of mechanical strength and corrosion protection, while the choice of brass eliminates the need for protective plating that can be scratched and does not require maintenance in use.

     The comprehensive accessories range includes direct and angular outlet shielded and unshielded cables and conduits, metal and polymer protective caps, and assembly tools.

     The LMF series, formerly known as the Plessey MK4, operates in a temperature range of -40 ° C to +85 ° C with limited environmental capacity. Standard housing styles include weatherproof bulkhead feed connectors, which allow the cable to break completely through the bulkhead. Thermocouple connectors can also be configured with an additional choice of alum, chrome/brass, and constant contacts.

     The LMG series, formerly Plessy MK7 (Patt.104), is a newer LMF series with more comprehensive environmental performance. The standard plug is neoprene and the operating temperature range is -55 ° C to +100 ° C. For more demanding applications, fluorinated silicone rubber can be selected as an insulator, increasing the temperature range from -55 ° C to +150 ° C.

     If the occasion requires, connectors can be intermatched in their respective styles and types, and their performance is limited to LMF capabilities. The LMG series does not include bulkhead feed through connector styles or thermocouple contact options.
