     ST uses a smart city environment where multiple sensor nodes are connected to a wireless mesh network as an example to illustrate the important role sensors can play. These sensor nodes perform functions such as smart lighting system monitoring, smart waste monitoring, smart vibration detection and smart environment monitoring.

     Through the wireless grid sensor network, ST uses proximity detection sensor nodes to detect the wirelessly controlled car model, and adjusts the brightness of the street lamp according to the location of the car. Detect building vibration by accelerating sensor nodes; Temperature, humidity and pressure are measured with the help of ambient sensor nodes mounted on the surrounding area; The wirelessly connected lighting control panel monitors the power consumption of the lights in real time. Data from all sensor nodes will be transmitted over the network to a display for easy access at any time. The design is based on ST's 32-bit microcontroller development board and a variety of sensors, such as RF transceivers and power management chips for a wireless full grid network built with Paradox Engineering's communications platform [1].

     Engineers will also be able to experience ST's latest embedded development ecosystem, using the Nucleo 32-bit microcontrol development board and X-Nucleo expansion board, as well as ST's moving MEMS sensors, environmental sensors, MEMS microphones, motor drivers, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) chips and dynamic NFC tags. The ecosystem is designed to make the development of smart cities and iot applications faster and easier.

     In order to adapt to the various specifications of many electronic products that have been mass-produced, the trend of strengthening power adapters to diversify has also increased the demand for easy-to-use power solutions. In the field of wireless charging, ST has launched advanced multi-platform digital power controller chips that comply with the standards of the two major wireless charging consortia, Qi and PMA. Other solutions from ST include: standby-power monitoring solutions for tablet and smartphone chargers based on multi-mode power control chips, and the new 1200V silicon carbide power MOSFETs.

     As the world's leading MEMS supplier, ST has the most advanced sensor solutions, including 6-axis MEMS sensor module evaluation board integrated 3-axis digital output acceleration sensor and 3-axis gyroscope, which achieve compact package size (2.5 x 3.0 x 0.8 mm) and excellent energy efficiency over the competition. There are also speech recognition applications based on MEMS microphones and smart Bluetooth Low power network processors.
