STMicroelectronics New high side drives for cars meet the most stringent start-stop technical standards for cars

     STMicroelectronics introduces a new automotive high-side drive that meets the cold-cranking specification for the most stringent German automotive industry LV124 test system, the first high-side drive chip in the industry to meet this standard. It is an ideal choice for automotive manufacturers using stop-start engine technology.

     The new VND7050AJ12 and VND7140AJ12 have a minimum power supply voltage of 3.2V, which is the best product on the market from a parametric point of view. During the battery voltage drop due to engine start, the new product can directly drive important equipment such as the car dashboard to maintain normal operation. St chips can replace electromechanical relays and related circuits with compact dimensions and reliable performance. In terms of size, the new high-side drive is 40% smaller than its nearest competitor.

     As the latest product in the STMicroelectronic VIPower M0-7 series, the new product uses multiplexed current-sense diagnostics to provide accurate analog load current feedback signals. In addition, its best-in-class EMI protection performance is higher than the CISPR 25 technical specification. These functions and technical features work together to minimize the need for external detection and filtering components for application designs.
