ST launches smart building solutions and iot development ecosystem
STMicroelectronics offers the industry's best-resources-rich iot development ecosystem and smart-building solutions developed using that ecosystem, as well as a variety of advanced embedded system solutions. STMicroelectronics' iot development ecosystem is based on the STM32 ARM® Cortex-M microcontroller, enabling the development of intelligent modules that integrate computing, detection, connectivity, power management and signal processing capabilities with appropriate security.
The development ecosystem includes the STM32 Nucleo development board and the X-Nucleo expansion board equipped with sensors, communication chips, NFC tags, motor drivers, and the STM32Cube software development tool with multiple code bases. St's development ecosystem is the most feature-rich and user-friendly iot development ecosystem in the industry, and it is constantly expanding its scope to significantly reduce the development burden and cost of smart and iot products.
STMicroelectronics' Only Building solutions leverage their own iot development ecosystem to improve energy efficiency, safety and convenience in building management. This includes biometric/ID identification of NFC tags authentication and face-authentication modules, air pressure sensors to monitor altitude changes, power management chips for wireless charging, automatic lighting control based on proximity detection sensors, temperature and humidity detection based on environmental sensors, And the air conditioning system voice control function based on MEMS microphone and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) network processor. STMicroelectronics' iot development ecosystem consists of 17 STM32 Nucleo development boards equipped with various STM32 microcontrollers and 6 brushless DC (BLE) network processors DC) motor and stepper motor drivers, NFC tags, motion and environmental sensors, X-Nucleo expansion boards for proximity detection sensors. Each sample application can be piloted through an Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
STMicroelectronics' high-performance STM32F4 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller and its BLE network processor demonstrate continuous voice communication using beam-forming technology to suppress ambient noise, A MEMS microphone is also used to control howling noise. The technology can integrate voice-controlled functions into remote controls and wearable devices. St will also use smartphones to control STM32-based communication modules.
TeraProbe has the world's smallest package (3 x 3cm), fastest and most accurate face recognition technology, and its TeraFaces™ solution is based on the STM32F7 ARM Cortex-M7 microcontroller with up to 216 MHz main frequency. The STM32F7 integrates a variety of outstanding performance and peripheral interfaces, such as LCD controller and camera interface, in a small package. In terms of secure microcontrollers, ST used secure microcontrollers to demonstrate the generation and verification process of encryption/decryption algorithms and digital signatures. The microcontroller is compatible with the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM) security specification, which is customized by the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) with the highest physical layer security. With the world's highest anti-tamper features, ST's security microcontrollers can be used in future cell access fingerprint and eye recognition systems, which will significantly strengthen the security capabilities of iot systems against cyber attacks, thereby improving the convenience of People's Daily lives.
In terms of power management, ST has introduced its latest ultra-thin battery. A solid lithium film is made on a glass substrate using a semiconductor process, with a thickness of only 220μm and a current of 0.7mA can be generated. As a solid-state battery with no fire or explosion problems, it is an ideal power source for tiny electronics, such as wearable devices and sensor network nodes. Other solutions from ST include a variety of display boards and circuit boards, environmental sensors, digital switching power supply SMPS management chips, charging chips, motor control chips and NFC tags.
