SIBEAM introduces new WIGIG 802.11ad solution
SiBEAM has announced new SB6501 and SB6510 UltraGig network processors and RF transceivers. This new batch of products uses SiBEAM's proven, specialized millimeter wave technology to power the next generation of wireless networking products, 802.11ad (also known as WiGig), expanding the company's indoor gigabit wireless solutions. The WIGIG-compatible chip delivers multi-gigabit rates for ultra-fast data throughput and 4K ultra-high definition (UHD) video transmission for smartphones, tablet devices, ultrabooks, access points and wireless reception bases.
The double increase of wireless data communication speed leads to poor wireless network communication, which also becomes the bottleneck of wireless network development. With a bandwidth of up to 7 Gb/ s, WiGig 802.11ad increases required network capacity in the unlicensed 60 GHz band and delivers speeds up to 10 times faster than current wireless network technologies to create a new generation of wireless connectivity.

SiBEAM's UltraGig solution combines advanced beamforming technology with a unique antenna diversity structure that supports single/dual antenna array structures. On the one hand, antenna diversity can provide flexibility for RF installation, and on the other hand, it can enhance the RF robustness of the system. Its small size can support a wide range of product designs, which can be described as a representative solution based on energy saving, bandwidth and cost performance factors.
