Renesas Electronics launches two new entry level product groups

     Renesas Electronics, a global semiconductor solutions provider, announced the launch of two new product groups - RA4E2 and RA6E2 - based on the Arm® Cortex®-M33 kernel and Arm TrustZone technology to expand its 32-bit RA microcontroller (MCU) product family. The new 100-MHz master frequency RA4E2 product group and 200-MHz master frequency RA6E2 product group have been optimized to achieve first-class power efficiency without affecting performance.

     The new product group also features 128KB and 256KB flash options and 40KB SRAM, integrates rich connectivity options such as CAN FD, USB, QSPI, SSI, and I3C interfaces on chip, and provides an easy way to upgrade to other members of the RA product family. These new products will be ideal for high-performance applications such as sensing, gaming, wearables and appliances in small packages.

     The RA4E2 and RA6E2, the most cost-effective members of the RA product family with integrated CAN FD, offer small package options including the space-saving 4mm x 4mm 36 pin BGA and 5mm x 5mm 32 pin QFN for cost-sensitive and space-limited applications. In addition, the low power consumption of the new devices saves energy, enabling the end product to contribute to a greener environment.

     All RA devices are supported by Renesas Flexible Configuration Package (FSP), which contains efficient drivers and middleware to simplify communication and enhance peripheral functionality. The GUI of FSP simplifies and speeds up the development process, allowing the flexibility to use existing code and easily supporting compatibility and extension to other RA product family components. Designers using FSP also have access to the full Arm ecosystem and Renesas's extensive partner network for tools to help speed products to market.
