ROHM has developed RGB patch leds for automotive interiors to reduce chromatic aberration problems caused by color mixing

ROHM, the world's leading semiconductor manufacturer, has launched an RGB chip LED "SMLVN6RGBFU" for automotive interior, which is very suitable for the dashboard and CID (Center Information Display) and other in-car functions and status indicators. In recent years, with the improvement of the degree of automobile electronization and the development of diversified functions, various driving assistance functions such as automatic speed control, vehicle distance detection, lane detection have been widely used. In order to show the working status of these functions with indicators such as dashboards, the industry has an increasing demand for RGB patch leds that can represent a variety of colors.
In addition, the demand for interior products that use RGB patch leds to create a sense of comfort and luxury in the interior space is also increasing. In this context, ROHM uses its own component technology to develop RGB patch leds with smaller errors by finely controlling the luminescence characteristics of RGB components and improving color mixing performance.
In general, in order to make the RGB patch LED emit the target color of light, it is necessary to accurately control the color and brightness of its red, green, and blue (RGB) luminous elements, as well as technology that can improve the color mixing performance. ROHM has successfully suppressed the problem of color aberration of components and achieved better color performance than ordinary products with its integrated production system that incorporates superior technology from the component manufacturing stage. In addition, through the component's color mixing control technology, the color difference that is easy to occur when RGB patch LED color mixing is reduced, which helps to achieve the desired target color such as automotive interior. In addition, ROHM provides fine color matching support with chroma simulation systems that match the required specifications.
