Qorvo supports the development of Qualcomm's cellular vehicle-connected communications technology

Qorvo announced that the Qorvo front-end power Amplifier (PA) will be used by Qualcomm subsidiary Qualcomm Technologies,Inc. Qualcomm Cellular Vehicle Networking (C-V2X) reference design. Qorvo's new GaAsHBT PA is the only C-V2X enabled power amplifier designed to enhance road safety awareness and improve driver assistance.

    Qorvo announced that the Qorvo front-end power Amplifier (PA) will be used by Qualcomm subsidiary Qualcomm Technologies,Inc. Qualcomm Cellular Vehicle Networking (C-V2X) reference design. Qorvo's new GaAsHBT PA is the only C-V2X enabled power amplifier designed to enhance road safety awareness and improve driver assistance. The solution delivers industry-leading performance, improves linear output power and efficiency, and reduces heat to meet the needs of C-V2X automotive applications.

     C-V2X is used to support active safety systems that detect and exchange information for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) situations using low-latency direct transmission technology in the 5.9GHzITS frequency band to improve situational awareness without the need to subscribe to a mobile cellular network service or any network assistive technology. The 3rd Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) Version 14 specification defines C-V2X, including PC5 based direct communications, and lays out a clear path to 5G New Radio (5GNR).
