Power Integrations introduces its 2SC0115T2A0-12 dual-channel gate driver

     IGBT Drive Technologies, a leader in Power Integrations, introduces its 2SC0115T2A0-12 dual-channel gate driver with 90 kW to 500 kW inverters and converters at its core. Utilizing Scale ™-2 + integrated circuit and isolation transformer technology for signal transmission of DC/DC power supplies and switches, the new driver core improves system reliability and performance by eliminating an optocoupler. The drive core of the enhanced electrical isolation of the target system has an operating voltage of 900 volts, which is typical for 1200 V IGBT modules and complies with the PD2 and OV II standards of IEC 60664-1 and IEC 61800-5-1. The 2SC0115TA0-12 gate drive core supports modules up to 2400 A and switches frequencies up to 50 KHZ.

     With a 53.2x31mm footprint and a profile of just 13mm, the 2SC0115TA0-12 gate driver at its core is the most compact industrial unit of its type to offer. The highly integrated SCALE-2 + chipset uses approximately 85% fewer components than competing products, including short-circuit protection from the primary and secondary sides through VCE-SAT supervision and independent power voltage monitoring. The core of the new gate driver includes soft off (SSD) protection with low stray inductance applications. For more demanding environments, the 2SC0115TA0-12 supports full advanced Active clamp (AAC) to control the voltage overshoot of the shutdown IGBT.

     Each of the two output channels is electrically isolated from the primary side, while the other secondary channel. The output current provided by the ± 15A and 1.2W drive supply has a gate voltage swing of + 15V per channel to the on-off voltage of -6V is regulated to maintain a stable 15V regardless of the output power level.
