Phoenix Contact's HEAVYCON heavy duty connectors are used for a variety of connections on the panel and in the field. The product range is expanding to include fixed-position push-in contact inserts with snap-in latches. This brings Phoenix Contact's assembly and installation process closer to being completely tool-free.

The previous job of tightening the contact plug-in is replaced by a safe, audible, and perceptive connector housing locking operation. The snap-in contact plug-in is tested to the same impact and vibration requirements as the threaded mounting inserts for a reliable plug-in connection.

Combined with push-in connection technology, this assembly solution is easy to operate and saves significant time. Even PE connections are now scrapping the old threaded connections in favour of push-in connections. As before, users can still take advantage of the additional flexibility to insert pre-assembled wiring harnesses from inside or outside the control cabinet into the panel mounting base.
