Off-the-shelf medical-grade ring interconnect
Interplex's new Interplex surreline range will mean that Oems no longer need to work with suppliers to produce custom connector/cable assemblies for any new device model. Instead, they will have access to ready-to-use retooling products that are more cost effective and easy to implement. Medical grade circular Interconnect products are available directly from stock and are fully compatible with the full range of REDEL P1 and P2 connector formats. They are available in 14-bar (Plex 1) and 34-bar (Plex 2) versions.
Customers can specify the same connector on both ends of the cable, or select a connector on one end and a bare wire on the other. Cable length options are 3 "(0.9m), 6" (1.8m), and 10 "(3.05m). These interconnects utilize the company's patented Sureflex overlay mode technology to ensure industry-leading strain mitigation. Interconnect products manufactured according to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class II standards can handle harsh conditions. They offer 1500 match cycle durability, strong contact retention and high temperature resistance (up to 150℃, non-standard material options capable of handling 170℃).
In addition, the IP50 rating of these interconnects prevents the entry of liquid sprays that may occur in demanding clinical Settings. The Interplex surreline Interconnect is designed to address core applications in surgical equipment, medical imaging systems, respiratory equipment, diagnostic instruments and patient monitoring units. Beyond healthcare, they can also be used in industrial testing and data recording systems. "Until now, Interconnect providers serving the healthcare industry have mainly focused on providing customized solutions. As a result, Oems have to make significant upfront investments to cover the required tooling costs. It also means they have to wait about three months to get the connectors/cables shipped,"
