New application specific EZBuck regulator

Alpha and Omega Semiconductors Inc. announced its new application-specific EZBuck regulator. The highly integrated, compact, high-power density AOZ23567QI Constant On-Time Buck converter provides an upgraded solution designed to support VCCPRIM_VNNAON rails in Intel's Arrow Lake platform.
Intel's Arrow Lake S Line platform requires a VCCPRIM_VNNAON guide with high current. These high-current tracks are typically supported by power supply implementations that require either a controller with an external discrete power field effect tube or a converter with a large package. AOS 'Constant JIT Buck converter provides a highly integrated, high-power density solution that includes all the necessary power silicon in a heat-enhanced QFN 5 × 5 package. The device provides a continuous current of 22A and a peak current of 45A.
The device is designed to meet the specifications of Intel's Arrow Lake S Line platform with a nominal fixed voltage of 0.77V and system states of S0 to S5. Intel also needs power regulation capable of remote sensing to maintain accurate tolerances and take into account ground bounce. It has gone through rigorous testing to provide compliance with all verification requirements of Intel specifications. In addition, Intel has approved it as a key component of the PCL (Platform Component List) for the VCCPRIM_VNNAON power supply architecture.
The device also has a PGOOD output, an integrated boot diode, and an integrated soft start to help improve reliability. Protection features include cycle term flow, Short Circuit protection (SCP), OVP, and thermal shutdown. In addition, the EZBuck regulator's LIM pin allows system designers to adjust the current limit level, allowing them to balance the output power choke, output current capability, and component size.
