NXP offers customization for payment cards
NXP Semiconductor's new JCOP Pay running on the JCOP 5 EMV enables customers to better adapt to changing needs with highly customized features without compromising security. The company announced that JCOP Pay runs on the JCOP 5 EMV, which is designed to provide a high degree of customer customization of payment cards while improving the security of payment cards. With the latest EMVCo certification, JCOP Pay runs on the JCOP 5 EMV, enabling customers to achieve a long issuing life.
Inventory management is a challenge for payment card manufacturers as they need to adapt to changing consumer demands in a highly competitive industry. The solution features flexible and secure reconfiguration until the card is issued to the end consumer, allowing changes to payment scheme applications and Settings. This provides customers with efficient inventory management and ADAPTS to special multi-application requests, giving customers improved customization options and increasing their overall flexibility.
"Customization and adaptability are critical for payment card issuers," said Christina Larner, senior director of Secure payments and identity at NXP. "The latest generation of JCOP Pay offers flexible, secure reconfiguration options that enable our customers to quickly move their existing inventory to changing consumer demands, ultimately giving them the flexibility they need to succeed in a highly competitive industry."
The solution provides an off-the-shelf solution for all major payment schemes, including the White Label Alliance's WLA standard, which supports the creation of domestic payment schemes. In addition, the solution runs on JCOP 5 EMV and features secure PIN sharing, enabling consumers to use multiple payment schemes with the same card and PIN without compromising security.
JCOP Pay runs on JCOP 5 EMV and will be EMVCo ICCN certified by 2030. It is backward compatible with the mature JCOP Pay running on JCOP 4 EMV. It supports the elliptic curve encryption (ECC) encryption algorithm for next generation EMV applications. In addition, JCOP Pay is optimized for traditional wire key and inductive coupling, simplifying antenna tuning and achieving higher yields within card manufacturing tolerances.
