Mosfets provide higher efficiency in drive and SMPS applications

     Infineon Technologies AG has expanded its OptiMOS 6 MOSFET product range with the introduction of new 135V and 150V product families. The device is designed to meet the requirements of driver and SMPS applications and complements the recently launched OptiMOS 6 120V MOSFETs. Mosfets are available in a variety of packages to provide customers with the most suitable product choices. This broad package combination includes TO-220, D 2PAK tripod, D 2PAK seven-pod, TOLL, TOLG, TOLT, SuperSO8 5x6, and PQFN 3.3x3.3.

     With an expanded product portfolio, the company offers customers a variety of alternatives to select the MOSFETs that are best suited for multiple applications. Lower switching losses benefit applications such as server SMPS, solar optimizers, high-power USB chargers, and telecommunications. The improved conduction loss is very beneficial for electric forklifts and motor inverters in LEVs.

     Compared to the previous generation (OptiMOS 5 150V MOSFETs), the new product family reduces the on-state resistance rds (on) by 50% and the FOM g by 20%. With extremely low rds (on), improved switching performance and excellent EMI behavior, the new series offers unmatched efficiency, power density and reliability. A faster and softer body diode delivers up to 59% lower Qrr and fewer overharmonic ringing.
