Molex expands its portfolio of heavy-duty connectors for industrial automation
Following the completion of the acquisition of the GWconnect product family from Italian industrial connector manufacturer Westec Srl, Molex announced that it will expand its heavy-duty connector product line. GWconnect Heavy-duty connectors provide outstanding mechanical strength and vibration resistance for power, control and signal circuits. "Heavy-duty connectors complement our trusted Brad solutions in industry and are built on top of our industrial automation portfolio," said Riky Comini, Director of Business Development at Molex.
UL/CSA certified GWconnect connectors comply with IP66, IP67 or IP69K (EN 60529) grades and are suitable for applications that come into contact with corrosive substances or require frequent flushing. Applications include control panels, robotics, industrial automation, food and beverage, as well as rail, commercial vehicles and renewable energy equipment.
Molex's GWconnect connectors are made of die-cast aluminum and coated with polyester powder, offering a wide range of housing materials and mounting options. Inserts made of self-extinguishing UL 94V-0 thermoplastic material are available with screw terminal, screw terminal with terminal block, spring terminal, crimp terminal and insert terminal options. Special sealing gaskets protect inserts from dust, moisture and chemical agents. Pin processing contacts are made of hard silver material or gold-plated copper alloy to ensure extremely high reliability and performance. A full range of press crimping terminal products are also available in reel packs for automated crimping applications. The sealed GWconnect solution features a flash locking system that tolerates shock well and prevents accidental pullout.
