Molex expands its innovative circular hybrid technology connector system
Molex extends its innovative Brad Micro-Change M12 Circular Hybrid Technology (CHT) connector system New 8-pole (4+4) connector products with two pairs of Cat5e twisted-pair data cables and four power cords capable of carrying up to 6.0 A current. The Brad Micro-Change CHT connector system combines power and data cables in a single connector, cutting cabling requirements and reducing installation time and associated costs.
Ted Szarkowski, Product Manager at Molex, explains: "The IP67-sealed Micro-Change M12 interface with overmolded technology provides reliable connectivity in harsh industrial environments for industrial process and automatic control applications, HVAC control systems, telecommunications infrastructure and base stations. And other harsh environment applications that require power and data to be in one device."
The clad metal tube shield allows power and Cat5e signals to be combined in a single connector without loss of optimal signal integrity and performance. Two overlapping conduits are able to guide the signal through the connector without causing crosstalk and electromagnetic interference (EMI). The new 8-pole (4+4) Micro-Change CHT connector is currently available for M12 with threaded form factors.
Ted Szarkowski, Product Manager at Molex, added: "The unique Molex shielding concept of the Micro-Change Circular Hybrid technology connector is not limited to the M12 type, and we can use this technology in different packages depending on the needs and requirements of specific customers."
