Microsemi Corporation announces the SA.3X series of enhanced quantum rubidium miniature atomic clocks
Microsemi Corporation announces the SA.3X series of enhanced Quantum Rubidium Miniature Atomic Clocks (MAC). The industry's smallest, lightest and highest performing MAC, the enhanced Quantum MAC SA.3X series is based on coherent population trapping (CPT) technology, which is unique to Meko Semi. Solidify Microsemi Corporation's more than 40 years of leadership in timing solutions. The MAC SA.3X series meets the needs of all traditional and broad market benchmark frequency applications.
The Microsemi Corporation Quantum Rubidium MAC SA.3X series offers excellent mechanical robustness and temperature performance, and is only 25% of the volume of the closest competitor clock products in its class. The SA.3x series has a small size and very low power consumption, and can be mounted directly on the printed circuit board (PCBA) without the need for a heat sink or fan.

The Rubidium Quantum MAC series has excellent retention accuracy over extended periods of time, exceeding the requirements of all wireless LTE base stations and mission-critical defense infrastructure. The MAC-SA.3x series will meet the multi-day retention requirements for LTE applications, an important feature. This innovative capability far exceeds that of traditional quartz-like oscillators, which can only meet the maintenance requirements for a few hours at most. During periods of GNSS vulnerability caused by interference and outages, this important distinction leads to more sophisticated emergency solutions.
