Microchip's TrustFLEX platform adds ECC20x and SHA10x series of security authentication ics
Pre-configured CryptoAuthentication ics help reduce development time and minimize design costs. Security key configuration is essential to protect sensitive keys from third-party tampering and malicious attacks. Secure key storage is essential to secure consumer, industrial, data center, and medical applications, but the process of developing and documenting secure key configurations can be complex and costly. In order to lower the entry barrier to secure key configuration and enable faster prototyping, Microchip Technology has added ECC204, SHA104 and SHA105 CryptoAuthentication ics to its TrustFLEX device, services and tools portfolio.
ECC20x and SHA10x ics are hardware-based secure storage devices used to hide keys and protect against unauthorized attacks. As part of the TrustFLEX platform, ECC204, SHA104, and SHA105 ics are pre-configured with defined use cases, customizable encryption keys, and code samples to simplify the development process.
Nuri Dagdeviren, Microchip's corporate vice president for Secure Computing, said: "The addition of ECC20x and SHA10x pre-configured devices to our TrustFLEX platform will help leverage Microchip's security provisioning services in a wider range of applications. The ECC20x and SHA10x devices meet the Joint Interpretation Library of Common Standards (JIL) high-rated secure key storage requirements and are certified by the NIST Entropy Source Verification (ESV) and Encryption Algorithm Verification Program (CAVP) to comply with the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS). The Secure IC family is designed to implement trusted verification to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of data and communications in a variety of systems and applications.
Microchip's CryptoAuthentication ics are small, low-power devices that are compatible with any microprocessor (MPU) or single-chip microcomputer (MCU). They provide flexible solutions for the safety of industrial, medical and battery-powered devices as well as single-use applications. In addition, the ECC204 is a Qi® Certified Secure Storage Subsystem (SSS) approved by the Wireless Charging Alliance (WPC).
