Microchip introduces the multifunctional MPLAB PICkit Basic debugger

To enable more engineers to enjoy more powerful programming and debugging capabilities, Microchip Technology Inc. released the MPLAB PICkit Basic online debugger to provide a cost-effective solution for engineers at all levels. Compared to other complex and expensive debuggers, this economical tool offers high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity, CMSIS-DAP support, and compatibility with multiple integrated development environments (ides) and microcontrollers. The versatility of the debugger enables developers to use it across a variety of projects and platforms, including the VS Code ecosystem, simplifying workflows and reducing the need for multiple tools.

• USB Type-C cable: With a modern, versatile and easy-to-use USB Type-C cable, USB-C connectivity improves connection stability, speeds data transfer and enhances reliability without the hassle of using outdated or incompatible cables.

• Cost advantage: Most advanced debugging and programming tools are expensive and limited to hobbyists, students, and small development teams. The MPLAB PICkit Basic debugger offers advanced features at a lower price, making it an affordable option without compromising functionality.
