Littelfuse Corporation, a global leader in circuit protection, announced the launch of six families of highly reliable transient suppression diodes, all of which have been upgraded and screened for aerospace applications. The 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HR and 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HRA series of highly reliable transient suppression diodes are designed to protect sensitive electronic devices from transient voltage damage caused by lightning surges and other transient voltage events

Littelfuse Corporation, a global leader in circuit protection, announced the launch of six families of highly reliable transient suppression diodes, all of which have been upgraded and screened for aerospace applications. The 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HR and 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HRA series of highly reliable transient suppression diodes are designed to protect sensitive electronic devices from transient voltage damage caused by lightning surges and other transient voltage events. The product is specially screened and classified for protecting DC lines in applications with high reliability requirements.

Suitable for providing robust DC power protection and ESD protection, these new families of transient suppression diodes are designed for avionics (avionics) applications such as FADEC, aircraft sensors, avionics computers, fly-by-wire flight control systems, cockpit electronics and airport landing assistance systems. Other uses include industrial applications such as the energy industry. In addition to these ready-to-use components, Littelfuse offers customizable upgrade screening and sorting process solutions for these products to meet the specific requirements of aerospace, military, industrial and medical applications.

"Not long ago, if a customer needed a high-reliability transient suppression diode that had been upgraded to a specific standard, the commercial-grade component had to be sent to an external subcontract laboratory for additional classification. This extra step means customers have to wait longer for deliveries and incur higher component costs." The Littelfuse 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HR and 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HRA series of highly reliable transient suppression diodes offer the following key advantages:

• Military screening processes ensure high reliability to meet the requirements of aerospace, military, industrial and medical applications.

• A variety of highly reliable, customizable screening processes that allow flexibility for a wide range of applications.

• Standard voltage ranges and power ratings make it easy to use high-reliability transient suppression diodes in circuit design (with RTCA/DO-160 waveform characteristics).

• A long history of application in the aerospace industry ensures market-tested results.

Customizable upgrade screening/classification processes for the -HR and -HRA series include visual process monitoring, single fab batch source, high temperature storage life, X-ray inspection, reflux (2X), temperature cycle testing, 3 Sigma and dynamic testing, customized Vbr/lr, additional classification, HTRB, H3TRB, good traceability, and marking. Only the -HR series devices have been tested by Group B.
