Lattice Semiconductor and Helion launch a new generation of FPGA-based camera design solutions

     Lattice Semiconductor, the market leader in ultra-low-power, small-size custom solutions, announced the launch of a new generation of FPGA-based camera design solutions with Helion. Design engineers can implement next-generation HD camera solutions for the industrial and automotive markets with the world's smallest programmable devices and lowest cost per I/O.

     Lattice and Helion use the HDR-60 camera development kit based on the LatticeECP3 FPGA and Helion's IONOS image signal processing IP as the foundation platform. Can be used to achieve High Dynamic Range using Fairchild Imaging's HWK1910A rolling shutter sensor. HDR) and HD and Megapixel Image Processing solutions using Sony's IMX104 and IMX136 image sensors.

     The LatticeECP3 FPGA can directly interconnect with a wide range of high-definition sensors, perform image processing for intelligent analysis, and output video via its high-speed I/O or using integrated 16-channel SERDES, making this solution ideal for machine vision, factory automation and video surveillance applications.

     HDR-60 based autofocus and liquid lens solutions from Varioptic demonstrate the fast focusing, ultra-low power consumption and high impact resistance of liquid lenses, which, combined with low-power, low-density FPGA devices, expand the range of applications for customers in the industrial automation market.
