Lantiq introduces the industry's most integrated home gateway network processor

     Lantiq announces the industry's most integrated home gateway network processor. The new GRX350 combines unmatched routing performance with bidirectional packet sorting technology to deliver True QoS™, along with a dedicated Trust World processor and hardware-enabled True Virtualization. This virtualization allows networking functions to operate independently of non-networking applications such as smart home services by isolating concurrent applications. One advantage of this architecture is that it reduces test time and time to market for new applications without compromising the stability and integrity of the core networking software.

     The MIPs-based GRX350 network processor integrates carrier-grade edge router capabilities into its advanced home gateway architecture, including multiple central processing units (cpus) and Gigabit switches with built-in GPHY, 3x3 Wi-Fi, Voice, and DECT phones. Following Lantiq's AnyWAN™ philosophy, the chipset can easily handle any kind of WAN connection, including the new G.fast standard.

     The next generation multiservice gateway based on Lantiq processors will simultaneously and in parallel manage multiple gigabit input data streams from different interfaces. A hybrid access network such as G.fast, GPON, Gigabit Ethernet WAN, VDSL2, or DSLTE (DSL + LTE).

     The GRX350 integrates advanced offload technology to intelligently manage millions of data packets from all wired and wireless devices competing for network bandwidth resources in a digital home environment, while achieving 0% CPU load.

     In the first of these home gateway network processors, Lantiq applies True QoS with hardware acceleration to all downstream and upstream data streams, while using full packet classification and bandwidth protection to ensure the best customer experience.

     The home gateway with GRX350 supports virtual provision of various network functions in software-defined networking (SDN)/Network Function Virtualization (NFV) scenarios by connecting the standard Open FlowTM protocol to its embedded True QoS and packet acceleration engine.

     The GRX350 is based on Imagination Technologies' interAptiv processor core, one of the most efficient and feature-rich CPU cores in its class. The GRX350 includes multiple multi-threaded MIPS cpus.
