Iot ultra-low power LoraWAN data communication

     MIKROE has released the LR 11 Click, a new addition to the company's 1750-strong Mikrobus-enabled Click board family, a compact add-on board that allows designers to enable energy-efficient, secure, reliable, long-range, bidirectional 915MHz LoraWAN data communication. The board features Ezurio's 453-00139R LoraWAN module, which integrates the Silicon Labs EFR32 SoC and Semtech SX1262 radio.

     It supports LoRaWAN Class A, Class B and Class C and operates in the 902-928MHz frequency range, with typical transmit power up to 22dBm and communication range up to 15km. With its extensive regulatory support and certification, the new Click is ideal for iot devices, asset tracking, smart home systems, industrial automation, and any application that requires a remote, battery-powered sensor solution.

     Nebojsa Matic, CEO of MIKROE, commented: "A special feature of the LR 11 Click is the additional mikroBUS slot, which extends the functionality of the board with peripherals such as sensors and lcd. The Clickboard can communicate with the onboard 453-00139R module through UART, SPI or I2C interface.

     The new Click is fully compatible with microbus sockets and can be used on any host system that supports the microbus standard. It comes with the microsdk open source library and sample code, providing unmatched flexibility for evaluation and customization. The Click board also includes an innovative ClickID feature that enables the host system to detect and identify it seamlessly and automatically.

     The Click package also includes the 868/915MHz FlexDIPOLE antenna, which is matched to the Ezurio 453-00139R module. This combination improves connectivity and functionality, ensuring optimal performance for telecommunication applications.
