Intersil introduces low-noise, low-power 40V four-channel precision amplifiers
Intersil Corporation announced the introduction of the ISL28407, ISL28417 and ISL28408 40V low power, high ESD protection class amplifiers with superior DC accuracy and noise performance, further expanding its portfolio of precision amplifiers. These new four-channel amplifiers are ideal for 12-bit to 24-bit process control, instrumentation and data acquisition applications. Based on Intersil's PR40 advanced bipolar process, the ISL28407, ISL28417 and ISL28408 all meet the low noise requirements of high-gain front ends in industrial control designs, while reducing the total power consumption of large signal acquisition applications.
The ISL28407 operates in a voltage range of 4.5V to 40V and has an ultra-low bias current drift of 0.3pA/°C over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, which is 30% lower than competing four-channel precision amplifier products. The ISL28407's low offset voltage (90uV, Max) and offset voltage drift (0.8uV/°C, Max) guarantee high DC accuracy over the operating temperature range. Its combination of low power consumption (290uA/ channel, maximum), 1MHz bandwidth, low input bias current drift (0.3pA/°C) and low noise (13nV/√ Hz@1kHz) leads the industry.
The ISL28417 is designed for sensor front ends, DAC buffering, precision voltage regulation or low noise instrumentation applications that require a variety of signals. It has extremely high performance, while the maximum current consumption per channel is only 530uA, low frequency noise is only 250nV (peak-to-peak, 0.1Hz to 1 to 10Hz), and voltage noise density is 8nV/√Hz (1kHz). The maximum offset voltage is only 70uV and the maximum offset voltage drift is only 0.75uV/°C.
The ISL28408 consumes half the power of the ISL28417, offering single-power mode and rail-to-rail output. Its wide input voltage range supports input signal voltages up to a minimum of 0.5V below the negative supply rail. Wide dynamic range rail-to-rail output, 230uV low offset voltage (Max), low noise (15.8nV/√ Hz@1kHz) and low power consumption (250uA/ channel, Maximum) and a wide voltage range of single (3V to 40V) or dual (+/-1.5V to +/-20V) makes the ISL28408 ideal for industrial and instrumentation applications.
