Infineon simplifies Speed Sensor design with the TLE4922 sensor and the "Speed Sensor 2Go" package

For fast and reliable Speed measurement, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX/OTCQX: IFNNY) introduces the new Hall Sensor TLE4922 and the accompanying "Speed Sensor 2Go" design kit.

The sensor development kit from Infineon will significantly reduce the design effort, resulting in shorter development times and lower system costs. For fast and reliable Speed measurement, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX/OTCQX: IFNNY) introduces the new Hall Sensor TLE4922 and the accompanying "Speed Sensor 2Go" design kit. The TLE4922 has been developed specifically for industrial and automotive applications where fast and reliable speed measurement is essential, such as the speed detection of crankshafts and transmissions in two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Industrial applications include speed detection of production and building automation and electric drive control devices.

TLE4922 ensures reliable speed measurement and reduces system costs

The TLE4922 Hall sensor reliably measures magnetic field changes. This means that it can be used for speed detection of multiple types of wheels, such as magnetic encoder wheels or ferromagnetic gears. In addition to its wide application range, the TLE4922 helps reduce system costs. For example, it supports the use of simple and cost-effective back magnetic, while achieving high air gap performance and phase accuracy. The sensor is also very robust in terms of resistance to vibration and gap jumps, enabling accurate speed detection over an extremely wide magnetic field range of +/- 400 mT. The larger operating range simplifies circuit design and improves sensor flexibility and robustness. This makes it easier to install sensors, which further helps reduce system costs.

The TLE4922 is particularly suitable for TIM(Twist standalone installation) configurations. As a result, it can replace passive speed sensors in motors and on two-wheelers and car wheels. Compared to passive speed sensors, the TLE4922 accurately measures speed up to 0 Hz. In addition, it has good jitter performance and provides a number of protection features against short circuits, overheating and reverse voltage. Good electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and ESD robustness make it suitable for use in harsh operating environments. The operating voltage is 4.5V to 18V and the operating temperature range is -40°C to 155°C. The sensor is available in a 4-pin SSO package.

Easy Sensor design with the "Speed Sensor 2Go" kit

With the "Speed Sensor 2Go" suite, developers can quickly and easily evaluate the TLE4922. This way, they can very quickly see how the TLE4922 works in a variety of applications. Initial measurements can be made in just a few minutes. The Speed Sensor 2Go package includes the sensor module, interface board, and cables. The sensor module integrates the TLE4922 sensor and ferrite magnet. The interface board has two XMC microcontrollers: one for triggering and one for debugging. The USB cable provided with the kit can be used for PC connection. A graphical user interface (GUI) -based evaluation tool records and displays speed data graphically. In addition to the "Speed Sensor 2Go" package, Infineon offers additional software-based development tools that support sensor simulation, such as System C models or special evaluation tools.
