Infineon and Eatron extend their collaboration on AI battery management solutions to industrial and consumer applications

     Infineon Technologies AG, a global semiconductor leader in power systems and the Internet of Things, and Eatron, a leading provider of AI battery optimization software, have extended their current collaboration in the field of automotive battery management solutions (BMS) to a complete portfolio of BMS products, including a variety of industrial and consumer applications. With Infineon's PSOC™ microcontroller, the collaboration combines the benefits of AI-driven battery optimization software and advanced power semiconductor components to create a cutting-edge solution that minimizes battery performance degradation, detects safety issues, and improves the performance and reliability of battery-powered systems.

     The technology integrates Eatron's AI-based and pre-trained model BMS software with SOX, RUL and safety diagnostics capabilities with components of Infineon's MOSFETs for battery protection and AI-based PSOCTM 6 battery management system, enabling highly advanced machine learning capabilities. This provides customers with a number of advantages, including accurate prediction of the battery's state of charge (SOC), reduced system costs and faster time to market. The collaboration addresses the growing demand for advanced battery management systems in industrial and consumer markets such as light-duty electric vehicles, portable electronics, energy storage systems, robotics and power tools.

     With the increasing demand for improved energy efficiency, extended battery life, and predictive maintenance, the market for battery management and optimization is expanding rapidly. In Eatron's collaboration with Infineon, AI plays a crucial role in improving battery performance. The collaboration has become a leading solution for many applications, such as robotics, wearables, portable medical devices, smart home devices and appliances, battery-powered iot products, and low-power energy storage solutions.

     Eatron's software has been pre-validated and deployed on Infineon PSOCTM. The software was benchmarked in an application consisting of up to 24 units, in contrast to traditional techniques that require extensive unit characterization. The evaluation was conducted using commercially available LG Chem INR21700 M50 batteries over a wide temperature range (0-45°C), and the results are comparable, demonstrating the tremendous value of Eatron's technology in collaboration with Infineon.
