IDT's new digital predistortion demodulator delivers industry-leading performance for cellular base stations

IDT Corporation has announced a new RF device that can help TDD cell base station developers significantly reduce power consumption, design solution costs and board area. Operating at frequencies from 3200 MHz to 4000 MHz, the F1358 integrated digital Predistortion (DPD) demodulator provides the industry's highest linearity and integration to improve the performance of the linearized path of the digital predistortion transmitter in the cellular base station.

     IDT Corporation has announced a new RF device that can help TDD cell base station developers significantly reduce power consumption, design solution costs and board area. Operating at frequencies from 3200 MHz to 4000 MHz, the F1358 integrated digital Predistortion (DPD) demodulator provides the industry's highest linearity and integration to improve the performance of the linearized path of the digital predistortion transmitter in the cellular base station.

     Integrated with a digital stepping attenuator (DSA) and a single-pole double-throw switch (SP2T), the F1358 joins IDT's growing RF portfolio and complements two other highly popular high-performance demodulators: The F1320 operates from 400 MHz to 1200 MHz, and the F1370 operates from 1300 MHz to 2900 MHz. All IDT DPD demodulators use IDT's patented Zero-Distortion™ and Glitch-Free™ technologies and are pin-compatible.

     The F1358 modem reduces costs by improving transmitter adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) performance while eliminating the need for external intermediate frequency (IF) amplifiers, balunbalance converters (baluns), switches and DSA. Compared to traditional solutions, the F1358 reduces power consumption by more than 1 watt and has very high reliability, with a cut-off point of 42 dBm at operating temperatures up to 105 ° C.

The F1358 is the ideal and flexible solution for linear base Station transceiver (BTS) transmitters for 3 to 4 GHz TDD systems."
