Harwin female power contact connector for 2mm pitch connectors
Harwin has announced the launch of a new female contact connector for Datamate connectors, which significantly increases the power level of transmission. The T-Contact contact connector's unique patented 6-finger design, machined from a single piece of beryllium copper, increases the current capacity of the compact 2m-pitch interconnect system, supporting up to 8.5A currents per contact. The new T-Contact thus further improves the size, weight and power (SWaP) parameters of Harwin's popular Datamate connectors and meets the increasing power demands of engineers in modern space-constrained designs.
The innovative, patented design of these components enables more contact points, thus enhancing the shock resistance (100G) and vibration resistance (40G for 6 hours and 2 hours per shaft) of the new product. The crimp bucket supports 22AWG cables and complies with IPC-A-620 wiring harness specifications. The gold-plated contact design ensures reliable performance even in the most demanding application environments (meeting U.S. military standards, etc.). This also means that a high number of insertions of up to 1000 can be performed, thus extending the service life of the connector that matches it. The operating temperature range of the new product is -55 ° C to +125° C.
T-Contact has a 60% increase in contact cleaning capacity compared to existing Datamate contact connectors, which improves the self-cleaning function and reduces the possibility of surface contamination. To complement these breakthrough contact connectors, Hawin also offers a wide range of double-row housings with different threads, with product options available directly in stock in different sizes from 4 to 50 positions.
The main target applications for the new products include defense, avionics (control systems, radar, drones, etc.), motor racing (navigation systems, sensors, telemetry equipment), industrial automation (drive/control, robotics, motion control systems) and satellites, among others.
