Rutronik is expanding its portfolio of Hall effect sensors with the Micronas HAL 302x family from TDK. The device measures vertical magnetic field components (BZ). Developers can choose between two sensor models (HAL 3020 and HAL 3021) for fast angle determination, with which they can fulfil the need for stray field robust motor position detection and ISO 26262-compliant development.

     Rutronik is expanding its Hall-effect sensor portfolio with TDK's Micronas HAL 302x family. The device measures the vertical magnetic field component (BZ). Developers can choose between two sensor models (HAL 3020 and HAL 3021) to quickly determine the Angle to meet the needs of stray field robust motor position detection and ISO 26262-compatible development. The series of components have differential or single end string and cosine analog outputs, with integrated open circuit detection function. In addition, the rotation Angle of the solenoid can be calculated by an external a /D converter and MCU/ECU.

     The arrangement of Hall plates enables the sensor to suppress external stray magnetic fields. Only a simple bipolar magnet at the shaft end configuration is required to measure the absolute angular position. Magnets can be placed above or below the sensor. The measurement principle of Hall plate arrays minimizes errors due to power supply voltage and temperature fluctuations.

     The integrated signal path allows the family's non-volatile memory (EEPROM) to be programmed to individually adjust related properties such as sine and cosine signal amplification, offset, (absolute)0 Angle, orthogonality, and bandwidth. Programming is done via the output pins of the sensor, so no additional programming connections are required.

     The series includes integrated diagnostic functions such as over - and under-voltage detection, as well as wire breakage monitoring during normal operation. Due to its extensive certification and high temperature resistance, this sensor family is ideal for automotive and industrial applications. The sensor uses SOIC8 SMD housing.
