UKRI’s Faraday Battery Challenge has granted financial support to Eatron Technologies and About:Energy in order to develop an innovative decision engine powered by artificial intelligence. This engine is expected to extend battery lifespans, shorten time-to-market, and solidify the United Kingdom’s standing as a worldwide frontrunner in intelligent battery management systems powered by AI.

    Present battery management systems (BMS) depend on straightforward, empirical approaches that compromise precision for the benefit of decreased computational burden. In contrast, traditional AI-driven approaches continue to present difficulties in terms of BMS integration owing to their intricate nature, rigorous training requirements, and need for substantial amounts of input data.

     AiMAGINE is a novel initiative that integrates the cutting-edge high-fidelity electrochemical battery models developed by About:Energy. These models are calibrated rapidly and precisely using Eatron’s distinctive edge and AI-driven cloud platform. When utilized collectively, they will generate patented remaining useful life (RUL), state-of-charge (SoC), and health (SoH) assessments that are exceptionally precise.

     Artificial intelligence (AI) assists electrochemical models in improving predictions by incorporating intricate physical behaviors that are unfeasible to model. Consequently, the groundbreaking AI-driven decision engine (AI-DE) will furnish the BMS with exceptionally precise operational parameters, thereby substantially extending the lifespan of the battery packs and streamlining the integration process.
