Diodes introduces a 13.5Gbps high-speed video switch
Diodes, Inc. announced the PI3WVR41310, a 13.5Gbps high-speed video switch. The device improves resolution and refresh rates in next-generation commercial displays, gaming displays, docking stations, video matrix switches, and embedded applications.
For proper configuration and communication between connected devices, there are dedicated DDC/AUX pins and HPD pins that allow devices to automatically recognize the connection. The device is available in a 52-pin leadless package with a footprint of 3.5mm x 9mm, saving space and helping to reduce PCB costs.
The four-channel video switch operates as a 3:1 multiplexer or 1:3 demultiplexer. The switch has an insertion loss of -1.8dB at 13.5Gbps and -3dB at a bandwidth of 10GHz, supports connections such as DisplayPort 2.1 up to the ultra high bit rate UHBR13.5 specification, including HDMI 2.1 and other emerging and proprietary standards.
The device also supports a wide signal voltage range, with a common mode voltage from 0V to the power rail, allowing multi-standard DC coupled operation. By eliminating AC coupling capacitors, DC coupling saves space in dense PCB designs and improves signal integrity. Developed specifically for high-speed video signal applications, the device also features low signal return losses with low inter-channel crosstalk, low off-track isolation, and low alignment tilt.
