Diodes introduced synchronous rectifier controller
Diodes Incorporated introduces the APR343 synchronous rectifier controller, designed to meet the demand for highly integrated, efficient and affordable solutions for chargers for mobile phones and other portable electronic devices. The device integrates the output voltage sensing function into the secondary MOSFET driver to support the primary side control system.
The APR343's circuit configuration utilizes external MOSFETs for added flexibility. The device senses the MOSFET's drain and source voltage, performs synchronous rectification in discontinuous conduction mode, and gives a periodic signal to drive the MOSFET when the output voltage is below a certain threshold. The new product quickly responds to the secondary side voltage, thereby improving the transient response of the primary side control system and reducing the power consumption of the secondary side rectifier.
The APR343 high-performance rectifier solution not only provides overvoltage protection and undervoltage latching, but also minimizes the number of external components and uses the SOT25 package to further save board space, effectively meeting the stringent requirements of power converters in the consumer product and home appliance markets.
