Diodes High voltage and wide temperature range of the Hall effect latch series offers sensitivity and output options

     Diodes Incorporated's new AH37xx High Voltage Hall-effect latch integrated circuit family offers a variety of operating field thresholds to meet motor control, rotation position and speed detection requirements for a wide range of applications. Includes commutation of brushless DC motors that control washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, food processors, power tools and cooling fans; Measure the speed of motors, pumps and flowmeters; And non-contact position detection and indexing for printers, scanners and curtains.

     The AH37xx series is suitable for 3V to 28V operation in industrial and consumer products. These devices incorporate reverse blocking diodes, Zener clamping on input or output pins, and output current limiting to help prevent transient and overload conditions. The wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C and low temperature coefficient ensure robust and reliable operation at switching threshold points, while the 6kV electrostatic discharge capability makes the device more robust and simplifies the production process.

     The new product family offers multiple field operating options and release thresholds (Bop and Brp) for more flexibility in system design. The Bop and Brp sensitivities of AH3772/4 and AH3781/2 are up to +25G/+40G and + 40g respectively

     -25G/-40G; The medium-sensitivity AH3775/6 offers ratings of +70G/+110G and -70G/-110G; AH3777 had the lowest sensitivity and the release thresholds were +140G and -140G. These devices also offer designers a choice of output Settings between the open-drain AH377x series and AH378x devices, and their internal pull-up resistors effectively reduce bill of material numbers and save board size.

     The AH37xx Hall-effect latched integrated circuit takes advantage of a fast startup time of 10μs and a fast response time of 3.75μs to reduce latency and commutation errors and deliver superior performance. A truncated stabilization architecture with a gap regulator ensures temperature stability, minimizes switch point offset and enhances stress tolerance. These devices also provide good RF noise immunity, further improving overall operational stability.
