Diodes High-performance automotive Hall effect latching offers a variety of sensitivity options
Diodes Incorporated's new AECQ100-compliant AH376xQ Hall Effect lock series offers eight field sensitivity options to meet a wide range of automotive applications. Applications include commutation, coding and position control of various motors, pumps, fans and valves in the carriage to operate Windows, sunroofs, seats, taildoors and air conditioning. The new product can also effectively control and detect the speed and position of the crankshaft, camshaft and cooling fan in the engine compartment, and can also be used for water pumps, oil pumps and gasoline pumps.
The AH376xQ series offers a wide temperature range from -40oC to +150oC and a supply voltage range from 3V to 28V. With low crank voltage and overvoltage offset, these devices can withstand harsh automotive environments and ensure robust and reliable operation. Improved protection features also help enhance operational stability, including low-leakage latching diodes that prevent reverse power connections, input and output clamp voltages that withstand transient voltages, and output current limiting to avoid overloads. In addition, the device's 8kV electrostatic discharge capacity can withstand load drops of up to 32V.
The new product family offers eight field operation options and release thresholds (Bop and Brp) to meet the field strength and distance between the sensor and the field requirements for a variety of applications. Bop and Brp sensitivities range from up to +25G/-25G to down to +210G/-210G while maintaining pin compatibility. These devices are packaged in industry-standard SOT23 and SIP3 packages. Among them, AH3762Q/3Q/4Q/5Q also offers SC59 package options, with the reverse polarity magnetic field detection capability that SOT23 package cannot provide.
The AH376xQ Hall-effect latched IC delivers superior performance with a fast 10μs power-on time and a fast 3.75μs response time to reduce latency and commutation errors. The chopper stabilization design with low temperature coefficient minimizes switch point deviation and enhances stress tolerance. Open drain output configurations further increase flexibility by adjusting external pull-up resistance values to meet application requirements.
